Our Approach

We believe that a gym membership is an investment and that joining a gym means that someone else besides yourself is financially and personally invested in helping you reach your goals. At Lone Star Strength we care about you as a person, as an athlete, and your goals and we want to do everything in our power to help you achieve them. We cater to your needs and do what we can to set you up for success in your fitness endeavours.

Our Story

Lone Star Strength started in a garage with just a couple of people with an interest in training to compete in powerlifting and strongman events. We needed a place to train that incorporated many different disciplines of fitness in order to reach the goals that we wanted to achieve. We needed to have room to move with implements like a Strongman, the right racks, bars, and platforms to lift like a Powerlifter, the equipment to condition similar to a CrossFitter, and all the cable and plate loadable accessory equipment to build and strengthen like a Bodybuilder. It was impossible to find that in Lubbock and in each facility we visited we were able to satisfactorily train one portion of our program but had to neglect others. Lone Star Strength is my vision for what a real hardcore strength training facility should be; the right equipment, the right people, the right atmosphere for serious athletes and regular members with a strong work ethic who are willing to train hard and smart to achieve their goals regardless of their fitness discipline. Strongman, Powerlifting, Physique, Figure, Bodybuilding, or general strength training all under one roof; all working tirelessly to reach their goals with mutual respect and support because everyone is as devoted and determined to reach their goals as the next person!

I'm 26 years old and have had a passion for fitness since High School when I participated in Track and Soccer. After high school, I did mostly Marathon training and after completing two half Marathons decided to start weight training to be a more well rounded athlete. Over the course of the next 5 years I developed a Love for strength training and about a year ago I decided to prepare for my first sanctioned powerlifting meet. I've completed 2 USPA powerlifting meets and am currently qualified for USPA Nationals and IPL Worlds and a plan to compete at both. I am happy to have been able to find my true passion and an amazing place to train at Lone Star Strength.
